How does the ChainDragGONE work?

The ChainDragGONE guides the chain; it decreases the chordal harmonics by approximately 80% (depending on applications) and dampens vibration during rotation. The ChainDragGONE supports the accumulated slack (lower portion) of the chain as it moves to the rear sprocket. This enables the chain to cycle from the clutch driver to the rear axle sprocket on a smooth, purpose-oriented path; eliminating the ability of the chain to deviate either by balling up; bouncing side to side or jumping up and down. When this specific task is accomplished, the chain's kinetic energy is used as momentum, much like a flywheel, to keep the chain loaded and giving the kart racer an instant throttle response because the slack that is normally present with conventional set up is eliminated.

Have any independent tests been performed on the ChainDragGONE?

Yes, Oval Kart Magazine ran dyno testing at The Kart Shop in Midlothian, VA. Jason Higginbothan administered the set up and Lee Johnson administered the independent test. Click HERE for page 1 of the article, click HERE for page 2.  Mr. Johnson later said that what racers don't realize is that the momentum gained increases the acceleration rate.

What is a Metlin Filter Cover?

The Metlin Filter Cover (Pulse Air Filter) is designed for 2 cycle engines. When you use the Metlin Filter Cover dust, dirt and moisture are kept out of the fuel pump diaphragm area on the Walbro WB-3 carburetors.

Is additional chain length needed over a standard installation when I use the ChainDragGONE?

Chain length will sometimes be dead on, other times additional 2 to 3 links can be added so the engine location stays in place due to chassis set up numbers. The chain length can also be adjusted to reflect you chain slack preference.

On inertia dyno runs, does the run show improved acceleration or a decrease?

On dynos the time that it takes to go from clutch lock (3500 to 3800 rpm) to desired rpm is much quicker. Managing the chain's mass and using the force that it generates, (the chain is already in motion getting to clutch lock) it is like an additional weight (Fly wheel effect) and it allows the engine to reach high rpm's at a more rapid rate! Also when on the dyno, the difference net horsepower and torque graphs are much more precise as the vibration (chain harmonics) is dramatically reduced or eliminated. This same set of circumstances is addressed when on a kart, racing or testing. As you know every dyno is different and the engine builder who is doing the work knows all of the base lines he needs. I have seen how precise the numbers are when a dyno that has a belt maps out.  It is impressive with the ChainDragGONE on because the pulls are much smoother and more accurate.

How long will the wheel last?

The New Exorcist wheels come with Ceramic bearings and the wheel will last for seasons.

How does the ChainDragGONE enhance the driver's ride?

Because the vibration is reduced or eliminated, driver’s "feel" in the race kart becomes much more sensitive to what the kart is doing and how it is loading or flexing. Chassis adjustment is much easier to make because the driver's input is more specific.

2013 brings Exciting news from ChainDragGONE Race Products!

Scott Lilienthal, has been chosen to be the Voice of the Maxxis Mid Atlantic Dirt Series. Mackie Flood has made a bold move to implement change in his Mid Atlantic series starting with the way races and competitors are presented. I am pleased that this opportunity along with the ability to learn more about the serious aspects of ( racing on the coast) brings.

JC Specialties a leader in the karting products distribution business has added ChainDragGONE Race products to its 2013 catalogue. I am very proud to have been considered a product manufacture that is influencing karting, and have JC Specialties as a representative for CDRP.

The Stillball tilt hub has been a serious game changer for teams that want more consistency from their drivers. The safety aspect of its use has been the driving force to make all kart's manufactured, driver friendly with the ability to position the steering wheel so a driver can be comfortable in any seat or on any current race chassis.

ChainDragGone is proud to announce the addition of the ZQ2 DragGONE series mounts for 2013. This will enable racers the opportunity to enjoy the performance advantages that the High performance composite design provides engine builders and racers. If you race a Clone, Flathead, Animal or any single cylinder 4 cycle engine, you are bolting on an advantage with ChainDragGONE Race Products! At every level in karting, being able to squeeze the most performance from a given block has been the goal for every team! Drivers who have raced with the ZQ1 are experiencing the benefits from not clamping the engine to a solid mounting plate, compromising the engines ability to expand and contract as well as horsepower and torque gains, no one thought possible from a bolt on part. ..!

The ZQ2 will be offered as a engine mounting plate with the ability to add the ChainDragGONE chain management system at a future date. ...!

This procedure will change the position, that because of expense, drivers and teams have been reluctant to purchase the total mount. Understanding why making sprocket changes and not changing the engines position on the chassis is important to the overall performance of the kart.

2013 also brings a totally new Exorcist set of chain management wheels. The industry leading design or the Exorcist wheel has provided racers years of problem free racing with little concern for failure of loosing a chain while racing....!

Because of the focus of not moving the engine ( forgot to tighten the butterfly bolts in a furry of sprocket changing) will be a problem of the past while making these changes. The Exorcist wheels will have different diameter ribs that guide the chain and provide for larger splits associated with sprocket ratios. This revelation leads to the driver having more consistency on a weekly basis, along with the ability to race different tracks that call for different ratios and keeping the chassis set up they are comfortable with. To make it easy on the crew chiefs the wheels are color coded white, red and yellow!

Please come back to the ChainDragGONE web site as updated products will soon be presented. Look for the all new EXTENDED 7/16 and 1/2 inch heims that are available through the site and pay pal will make ordering easy and fast.
